*I wrote this post and thought that I had published it on our anniversary…but just found it in my drafts! Better late than never!
Three years ago, I married the love of my life. It was such a special day and each day I fall more in love with this man!
It was a rainy day, but you know what they say-rain on your wedding day is good luck! I still contend that is a tale people tell brides to make them feel better when it happens to them. Despite the wet weather, we had a great time celebrating with our friends and our families
We were married in Frederick, Maryland, which happens to be where we bought our house! I love it when things come full circle.
Since I just started my blog this year, I think I’ll tell you about what we did to celebrate our anniversary in the past. For our first anniversary, Chris and I took a trip to Niagara Falls in Canada. It was a first for both of us, and truly a spectacular site to see.
I promise, we were there together! All the pictures of the two of us were on Chris’ computer. We ate lunch at the spinning restaurant, with spectacular views of the falls.
And yes, we brought the top layer of our wedding cake all the way to Canada to eat on our anniversary. It actually looks like it made it OK! We had champagne and exchanged gifts. We have been trying to follow the traditional wedding gift themes, so the first year was “paper.” I gave Chris tickets to a Denver Broncos football game (his favorite team). He gave me a gorgeous necklace and a book (to follow the paper theme!).
We didn’t do much to celebrate our second anniversary because we were going on a cruise with our families a few weeks later. We did exchange presents, this year with the theme of “cotton.” I gave Chris a couple of funny t-shirts, and he gave me a vest (for the cotton) and something else (which neither of us can remember!).
So, today is our third anniversary, and I am actually in Nashville, TN for a conference without my hubs! But just because we aren’t together today doesn’t mean we won’t be celebrating. We have special plans for another day, but I wanted to make sure I checked in to wish him (us?) a happy anniversary!
Cheers to many more, my love!
